It has been over a year and a half since we first shared news that a senior scientist from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Dr. William Thompson, had revealed that he and other scientists and senior officials at CDC had altered data in an important CDC study to conceal the vaccine autism link.
Dr. Thompson, dubbed the “CDC whistleblower,” released a statement through his lawyer at a top whistleblower defense firm, alleging that the data in their study had been massaged to hide the increased risk of autism when the first dose of MMR vaccine was given before 36 months of age. An analysis of the unadulterated data showed an increased risk of autism in African American boys (odds ratio of 3.36) and an increased risk of “isolated autism” (autism with no other symptoms) (odds ratio of 2.45) in all children when the first dose of MMR vaccine was given before 3 years of age. Given current CDC recommendations to that all children receive their first dose of MMR between 12 and 15 months, this data was clearly uncomfortable for CDC.
Since this news broke, Congressman Bill Posey of Florida spoke on the floor of the US Congress, stating that he was in possession of thousands of pages of documents leaked by Dr. Thompson which documented fraud at CDC and also detailed how CDC scientists and officials met in a conference room and brought in a garbage can to destroy documents and conceal their tracks. Congressman Posey begged Congress to open an investigation yet no such investigation has begun.
